Do Jordans Run Big or Small? Retro Sizing Guide

Short answer: most Air Jordan retros run true to size — but "most" is doing some work in that sentence, and the exceptions are exactly the pairs people order wrong. Here is how the retros we carry actually fit, measured on the shop floor rather than copied from a size chart.

The true-to-size crowd

The Jordan 3, Jordan 4, Jordan 5 and Jordan 8 all fit true. If you wear a 10.5 in most Nikes, take a 10.5. The 3 and 5 have roomier toe boxes than modern Nikes, so wide feet are usually fine staying true rather than sizing up.

The ones that run snug

The Jordan 11 is the classic trap: the patent leather mudguard does not stretch, so the shoe feels a half size small across the forefoot. Wide feet should go up half a size. The Jordan 13 hugs the midfoot the same way — comfortable for narrow feet, snug for everyone else.

The ones with room

The Jordan 9 runs a touch long — some people drop half a size. If you are between sizes on a 9, go down rather than up.

Dunks, Air Force 1s and Air Max

Dunks fit true but narrow. Air Force 1s run big — half down is the standard move. Air Max 95s run small; half up.
