Rhinestone Jorts, Explained
Denim shorts with crystals set into the leg. What separates a good pair from a costume, how to wear them, and how to keep the stones on.
Jorts came back, and then they got iced. Rhinestone jorts are denim shorts with crystals set directly into the fabric, and they have gone from a novelty to a category in about two years. Here is what to look for and how to actually wear them.
The stones are the whole product
Good pairs place the crystals with intent — following a seam, tracing a curve, radiating from a point. Bad pairs scatter them and hope. The difference shows from three feet away.
The Fisk runs its stones in two long curves down the front of each leg, following the line of the pocket. Because the placement is deliberate, the eye reads a shape rather than glitter.

The same cut in a light wash is a different garment entirely. On pale denim the stones read as texture rather than contrast, which makes it the easier of the two to wear in daylight.

Placement styles
Beyond the traced-seam look there is the burst — clusters that radiate outward like fireworks, usually across the thigh and seat. It is louder and it moves more in the light.

How to wear them
One loud piece per outfit. If the shorts are doing the talking, everything else gets out of the way: a plain tee, a clean sneaker, no competing graphic up top. That is not a style rule so much as arithmetic — two things shouting cancel each other out.
Length matters more than people expect. These sit at or just below the knee, which is the length that works with a chunky sneaker. Shorter and the proportion goes odd; longer and you have lost the point.
Keeping the stones on
Turn them inside out, cold wash, gentle cycle, and never a dryer — heat is what loosens the adhesive behind each crystal. Air dry flat. Done that way a pair holds its stones for years; done in a hot wash you will find them in the drum.
Our rhinestone shorts run 28 through 44 with the full size range listed on every product page.
